Lunch & Café Pre-Order

The mission of the Union School District, in harmony with our community, is to educate and empower students to become continuous learners in an environment which ensures that each student gains knowledge and skills, self-motivation and related positive attitudes necessary to compete equitably with peers locally and globally towards meaningful and productive lives.
Dear Union School District Families,

It has been brought to my attention that when phone calls are received in voicemail from the school’s automated calling system, some messages only contain a portion of the entire phone message.  This is due to the way our system was developed in that the message begins to play immediately after the voicemail picks up the phone.  Due to the varied length of greetings presented in each individual person’s voicemail box, the message received and recorded often presents as missing the first portion of the message, which has been sent by the school.  The Focus Automated Calling System automatically repeats the message a second time, so that you may hear the complete message.  Please remain on the line long enough to receive the entire message the second time, to ensure you have heard it in its entirety.  This will help to eliminate any confusion or need to contact office secretaries to inquire about the part of the  message, which was missed.  If your voicemail is either, full or not set up, please attend to these issues to allow for receipt of important information in the future.  Thank you for your attention to this matter and have a wonderful day.

Sincerely,

Dr. John Kimmel, Superintendent

Dear Parents/Guardians of students entering Kindergarten, 7th and 12th grades, and any new students to the Union School District.

As a reminder, the Pennsylvania Department of Health requires that students entering Kindergarten at Sligo Elementary receive the State required immunizations for entry into school.  This information was in your child's registration packet that was received in the spring.  Proof of immunizations must be received by the th day of school, which is August 26, 2025.

For students at Union High School, letters were sent home in May notifying parents/guardians of incoming 7th and 12th graders, who have not previously submitted verification of the required immunizations.  If you are unsure if your child is up to date on their vaccines, please contact their PCP for verification prior to the start of the upcoming school year.

Students entering 7th grade, must receive the TDAP vaccine and the first Meningitis Vaccine (MCV).

Students entering 12th grade are required to have the second MCV vaccine.

Per Pennsylvania School Health Law, verification of immunizations must be received for entry in these grades, or students risk exclusion from attending classes and any extracurricular activities. Documentation of immunizations MUST be received by the fifth day of school, which is August 26, 2025.

Immunizations are available at your child’s PCP office, Primary Health Care in Clarion, and The Clarion County Health Department.

Please submit a record of vaccines to the nurse in your child's building.
Below is some information from Pennsylvania Association of School Board Officials which investigates the disadvantages of Cyber Charter School enrollments.
